My name is Gonçalo Rosa and I born in Lisbon in 1971. I began collecting shells when I was only 13, actively looking for specimens, obviously beginning along the Portuguese beaches. Much later, in 2000, I began dealing in shells for collectors and for five years I was co-owner of Lowtide Specimen Shells, with my friend Paulo Granja. Since 2005, I am sole owner of Atoll Specimen Shells.
Along the years I have traveled to many countries to collect and also to buy shells, having visited Cape Verde, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania, Djibouti, Indonesia, Brazil, the Philippines, Colombia, Panama, Argentina, the U.S.A., Spain, etc. I have also participated many times in some of the most important Shell Shows around the world, including the C.O.A. Conventions and shell shows in Paris, Antwerp, Ottmarsheim, Germany and Switzerland.
I am also very keen on nature photography, with special interest in underwater photography.
I am also interested in outstanding specimens and only deal in shells of exceptional quality.
I deal in worldwide shells, either marine, land or fresh water, and try to include my offer only high quality specimens.
